Abstract

In terms of mathematics anxiety (MA), the current research investigation aimed to identify differences between male and female students. The present investigation was conducted using a descriptive survey-style approach. All of the secondary school students of grade 9-10 in this study were the target population in public schools in Punjab. Using a simple random sampling technique, 300 male and female students were selected from the accessible population to comprise the sample. For statistical analysis of the gathered data, the mean, standard deviation, and independent samples t-test was used. The mathematics anxieties of male and female students as well as those from rural and urban areas showed highly significant variations. Consequently, the conclusion was drawn that compared to male students, female students experience greater anxiety related to mathematics. Additionally, comparison to students in urban areas, those in rural areas showed higher levels of anxiety regarding mathematics.
