This research paper examines the political life and struggle of Shakir Buneri. He was born in 1940 at Bajkata village in Buner district. His father’s name was Muhammad Yousaf, who was a great Scholar and Mufti. This research paper provide information about the era of Wali Swat and clashes between Wali Swat and Shakir Buneri. The rule of Wali Swat was not a democratic; it was totally an autocratic type of rule. From the very beginning Shakir Buneri was against the autocratic type rulling of the then Wali Swat Mia Gul Jahan Zeb. The research paper also deals with the role of Shakir Buneri in the merger of Swat State. It also covers the role of shakir Buneri in the field of journalism because he was considered as the first Buneri who writes in different newspapers and journals. This research paper also investigated the political situation in Swat State and Shakir Buneri’s role in politics in the Wali Swat era from 1960 to 2003. The political struggle of Shakir Buneri was started from the clashes with Wali Swat. In 1963 Shakir Buneri was exiled by Wali Swat from his State. After exiled Shakir Buneri established strong relations with the leaders of different political parties of Pakistan. He joined political parties from time to time, and was also appointed on key posts of political parties and their organization. Shakir Buneri died on 1st November 2024 in his village Bajkata Tehsil Gagra district Buner.
