Abstract

One of the most significant human rights is the freedom of speech and expression. Since the divine commandments of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are designed to clarify one's right to free speech, subject to justifiable and respectable restrictions, they contain several statements that encourage pluralism and diversity of opinion. The reason freedom of speech is a big problem right now is because people use it without realizing its restrictions, especially when it comes to statements regarding religious texts, people, and the Almighty. The idea of constraints on free speech may be familiar to those who are aware of their ethical and religious bounds, but they may also disobey these rules and transgress the lines. They don't seem to understand the theological and ethical ramifications of restricting free speech. Although people's religious views and practices may vary, they all share certain common values, such altruism, fairness, generosity, and honesty. People are held responsible for their words and deeds by major world faiths like Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. In addition to regulations pertaining to contempt, defamation, and derision for holy books, religious writings, and figures, it emphasizes the Blasphemy Laws and their penalties. In terms of the extent of limits on free expression, this study aims to highlight differences among the constitutions of countries in the western hemisphere. The topic will be examined through the lens of critical analysis. Since unrestrained speech would plunge the world into chaos and violence, it is necessary to conclude that the right to free speech must be subject to reasonable constraints.
