Abstract

The current study aims to explore a prevalent issue of our time: how various social classes in Pakistan blend languages and how economic factors influence language mixing behaviors. Employing a survey technique, researchers targeted the population of social classes in Lahore district. A purposive sampling method was utilized to select 150 participants representing all three social classes. These participants, typically heads of households, were engaged in questionnaire-based interviews to collect data. The questionnaire comprised three sections: demographic information (Part A), ten closed-ended questions (Part B), and three open-ended questions (Part C). Data gathered underwent analysis using SPSS software, with results presented numerically in tables. The findings indicated distinctive patterns of language mixing among Pakistani social classes, driven by economic influences. The study concludes with recommendations based on the research outcomes.
